Dial and Nippletop represent the first half of the Colvin range and are most easily accessible from the AMR and Ausable Club. This climb is moderately difficult and notorious for it’s black fly density.
Cascade Mountain and Porter Mountain are most people’s very first High Peaks. Their general ease, location relative to Lake Placid, and exceptional views. You really can’t find a better introduction to the Adirondacks.
